Essays: War in Iraq

There is more behind the scenes of the news and anything you read in the paper. I cannot tell you what it is that lays burried beneath the media but we all should know that there are people above the president. If they were to see the war going horribly wrong, they would do something about it.

When the twin towers came crashing down, everyone thought, "this means war." Now, seeing that the war is making slow progress, we have changed our oppinion and believe it was a mistake. We don't think we should blame ourselves, so we blame the president. The United States of America is fighting to win.

Although, I believe something different should happen to save more of our soilders, I'm not the one in charge. What we all know, but may have forgotten, the war is justified. What we see on television is more and more soldiers dying, but they die fighting for their country. That is what they inlisted for, and that is what they are going to do.

American forces are only doing what they should, protecting their and our country. Would you rather they had sat around and done nothing on September 11, while the Taliban and al Qaeda attacked our homeland? I didn't think so. They took immediate action to protuct us.

"We the people" may have changed our oppinion, but the president cannot and is not going to. So the next time that you say the war is a mistake, just remember at one point in time you too probably thought, "this means war."
