New Year Resolutions for Internet Writers include five important tasks.
1. How long is it since you looked at your Internet Writer's Profile? Get the page up and re-read it slowly. Then re-read it out loud. Does it still ring true, with a clear and accurate depiction of your profile? Or are some details now out of date? Does the wrting style display your abilities to best effect or does it make you cringe? New Year is a perfect time to read it to friends and family and find out!
2. So, you may have decided it needs changes. Rewrite the parts you feel need attention. particularly any that seem jaded. A New Broom sweeps clean, so think about some refreshing invigorating new language and perhaps a cleaner sharper look with more white space.
3. Have you considered adding a writer's photo to your profile? The internet is a fast-moving environment and things have already picked up pace since last year. Your profile may need updating to keep up. Expectations and possibilities can change a lot in a year. Readers on the internet now like authenticity and that includes knowing they are reading quality content from real people. If you have a photo on your profile already, perhaps it's time to look at it with a critical eye. Does it still reflect the real, dynamic you? Or could you present yourself better in a different setting - head and shoulders perhaps, in a fresh and breezy outdoor location?
4. Are all your exciting new accomplishments represented on your writer's profile? Have you completed any courses, sold any articles, won any prizes or maybe even been published somewhere? Be sure to update your writer's profile and blow your own trumpet!
5. Cast a last eye over your bright new writer's profile to check for professionalism. Compare it to a few other profiles and see that it looks good against the standard of other writers you respect.
Then head off into the bright fresh dawn of a New Year's Writing on the Internet - and see your earnings grow, we hope!
