Is Christianity under the law a veil of deception that hides grace

only begotten Son of God.

"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

What Jesus did, was to die to save people who were "already condemned".

Grace is not some divine "Get Out of Jail Free" card, that we can present to God while continuing to carry on in sin as before. It is a completely liberating experience which, if truly received, removes our desire to walk in sin.

We will stumble from time to time, but are no longer under condemnation because we are no longer under the law, but under grace.

Blood is no longer required for he remission of our sins, because Jesus' blood has already paid in full.

In Hebrew, the word for "covering" is very close to the word for "ransom". So, when we say that we are covered by Jesus' blood, we are actually saying that we are ransomed by his blood.

That was what Israel enacted in shadow form every year under the Old Covenant ceremony of Yom Kippurim (Day of Coverings).

On that day, the High Priest placed his hand upon (covered) the heads of two goats, the Yahweh goat, representing Jesus, and the azazel (or damnation) goat, representing Satan.

The Yahweh goat was sacrificed and its blood given as a ransom for the sins of the people of Israel. The azazel goat was taken away and cast out of the camp, signifying Satan being bound and cast into the Abyss, by Michael.

The only law that applies to believers now is the law of love. "Love Yahweh your God, with all your heart and soul and mind and strength, and love your neighbour as yourself."

When we do that, the Ten Commandments pale into insignificance. You cannot keep the royal law of love' and worship idols or commit adultery. And even then, God does not require us to work up' this kind of love, because even it emanates as part of our response to his grace as we grow in our appreciation of how much he loves us (I John 4:19).

We cannot receive God's love and not love back. We cannot receive God's grace and fail to be gracious.
