Actually I'm an animal lover and have several animals to prove this. I despise cruelty to anything and anyone.

My problem with animal rights is that they are getting ridicules in some areas. First of all, animals were put on earth for humans. They were eaten in the bible which seems to me that they should be eaten now. Don't eat them and their population will grow like crazy and it's much worse on them to starve because they haven't enough to eat.

I remember in one of those reality shows where the participants had to eat anything they could find and there was a problem because I guess it consisted of small critters and even spiders and such. If it had been a true person shipwrecked, I don't care who it is, their survival instinct will come into play and they will eat anything they could to stay alive.

Cruelty is one thing, fighting silly fights just weakens your message. I worked at a chicken plant one time and I thought the hauling of them was so cruel. They would stick 6 or 8 birds to a small coop and pack them 20 or more high on a large truck. Sometimes, even a chicken would fall off a truck in transport. After careful thought on the situation, I decided it had to be done that way. Transporting more humanly would cost a lot more money, who do you think has to pay that cost? Yes, the people who buy chicken to eat. At one time, chicken was the cheapest thing to eat so many low income families ate a lot of chicken. If the price went up cause of transport, would those families get to eat?

I've always been taught to pick my fights, don't fight them all or you will surely lose some of them. Yes, I agree to fight against cruelty, animal testing and such but open some eyes when it comes to hunting, or fishing or food wise problems. I once saw an article about abuse to a dog because it was over weight. Come on, at least the pet is getting fed. Put the energy to the people who are starving the animals.
