Time Magazine's recent selection of Russian President Vladimir Putin as the "Man of the Year" is an assault on the freedom seeking Russian men and women who are seeing their aspirations and steps toward a true democracy being slowly destroyed by the new Czar of Russia.

Their selection for "Man of the Year" is also an assault on America.

Every move and decision made by Russian President Vladimir Putin is measured by how much power can be taken away from America in his quest to destroy our democratic way of life.

Time Magazine deserves to be the "Magazine of the Year" to dump for praising a man who is determined to destroy America's economy and influence around the world.

Their assertion and praise that Russia's chaos and disarray in their early years of democracy was stabilized under the control of President Putin rings false as his plan of attack against Russians seeking a true democracy and against America materializes more each day.

Russian President Putin stabilized or more appropriately called "beat down" dissent through intimidation, fear and rolling back the new found democratic freedoms of the Russian people.

How did Russian President Putin, as Time Magazine so eloquently praised, control the chaos?

The new wealth in the Russian Treasury from increasing oil prices around the world has allowed President Putin to say under his power and leadership Russia is greater when in reality he is hiding behind and using this new wave of wealth to consolidate his czar powers locally, regionally and on the world stage.

He reigned in and stamped out freedom of the press in his effort to squash dissent by reasserting czar controls on the Russian media outlets

He is seeking control of influential Russian citizens through the Russian court systems by accusing them of crimes and taking away their wealth such as what has happened to rich Russian oil and media moguls

While denying involvement in assassinations of Russian political figures, people of power with a dissenting opinion of President Putin's grab for absolute czar power have mysteriously died with the voice of one powerful dissenting Russian citizen silenced with a poison typically found only in the arsenals of government with access strictly limited.

Time Magazine's unwise decision to select President Putin as their "Man of the Year" only emboldens him to further strengthen his grip on Russia, countries adjacent to Russia, Europe and to advance his unspoken but evident goal of destroying America and her allies.
