I have played the games on Yahoo many times to cure boredom and have found these games to be entertaining, simple and fun for a short period of time. Most of the time that I spent playing Yahoo games was in their word games category. They have a lot of different word games to choose from, and most of them are very simple and easy. It didn't take me very long to get the hang of any of the games that Yahoo offered.

Besides word games, Yahoo had many other categories to choose from including free trials of addicting arcade games. Although you had to download many of these to even begin to play them, they were decent games to occupy a bit of time with. If you can overlook the many advertisements in most of the games as well as the small glitches that seem to occur during certain multi-player games, then you'll find a decent way to cure a bit of boredom.

As for the long-term gamer, like I am, playing games on Yahoo isn't going to be very rewarding.
The scoring system is not worth your time, many people cheat during multi player games and you'll find that many of the free trials won't let you go very far before asking you to pay.

Overall I'll only play the games on Yahoo as a last resort. There are many other great game websites that are far superior to Yahoo games. I found Yahoo games to be an easy way to entertain for a few minutes, but nothing more. I would rate the site 3 out of 5 stars.
