This holiday season, by the 26th of December, there will be many women all over the world squashed into ill fitting underwear. There are bras, corsets, knickers and garters designed to please the male eye made into designs and colors girlfriends and wives don‘t really like. However men will buy them anyway as they know no better.
Use the following tips to guide you when choosing lingerie for your lady to be sure what you buy will be worn more than just once.
1. Get the size right. There is no point in purchasing lingerie the wrong size as it just will not fit. You also risk upsetting your lady which ever direction size wise you slip up in favor of.
To find out the right size look at labels on garments she already has and wears regularly. Some items in her drawer may not be her size, as ladies often keep items to slim into or to grow into. They are practical, or at least wishful thinking in this way. A garment she wears often will show you not only her correct size, but remind you of her personal taste too.
If you can’t possibly rummage through her lingerie, and peeking at her underwear drying on the washing line is a no no, make sure you get a receipt for what you purchase so she can change it for the correct size if needs be.
2. If you have never seen your lady in bright red or black then chances are that these colors are not to her taste. If you are not sure, find an excuse to discuss her likes and dislikes of color so that you can make an informed choice when choosing lingerie.
3. If you feel awkward hanging around the lingerie section in a store by yourself ask a female assistant for help. They can advise you about what women like, and what female shoppers tend to buy. They can also help prevent you from feeling embarrassed while engrossed in feminine satin and lace.
4. There are several different styles of lingerie. One is old fashioned and dowdy. Think Bridget Jones’s big pants in her first movie. These are insulting, although comfortable, and should only be purchased privately by a woman for herself.
Then there are body shaping types of underwear. Again, only women should buy these for themselves. Try not to buy them by accident or your lady will be very offended. They are designed to flatten out lumps and bumps you are not supposed to have noticed.
Next is smutty lingerie. This has its place, but not as a sophisticated present. This sort of lingerie is best purchased by a couple who find it fun to shop together for these items to enhance love making.
Finally there is the right type of underwear to give as a present to a lady. This is generally made of a luxurious material such as satin or silk. It is sexy, but not cheap in appearance. It is seductive, but not trashy.
There is something very alluring about a man who can choose lingerie for a woman correctly. It takes an observant and thoughtful man to do this with style. But when a man chooses incorrectly it has the opposite affect. Therefore if in doubt buy her a bottle of her favourite perfume or a beautiful silk scarf instead.
