Reflections: What would you consider to be the most important things that have been a major inspiration in your life and why?

What's the most important thing to you?

Here is an exercise in stripping away what we think we believe to be what we think as important to reveal something else.

Just pose the question to yourself and write whatever comes into your mind.

Do not make any judgements to whether you think it is suitable or unsuitable just write it down.

When your mind goes blank and you cannot write anymore, pose the question again and write whatever comes into your mind.

If you are struggling, walk away and come back to it later.
Sometimes you may find yourself entering into a dialogue with the question. In reality, you are mealy entering a dialogue with yourself.

Here's mine. It is not too long because these things could go on forever!

What's the most important thing to you?
This is a very wide-ranging question to be asked.

What's the most important thing to you?
Trying to sort out all of those different priorities that a thinking being has to juggle thought every waking moment of it's life.

What's the most important thing to you?
This question can take on an almost Zen aspect the more you look at it.

What's the most important thing to you?
I think of our obligations, or duty to family, to the idea of a nation state, to our employer, our elderly, the poor, the sick, the prisoner and the victim.

What's the most important thing to you?
The levels of pollution in the oceans and atmosphere, about climate change, an asteroid impact, the world water shortages, the outbreak of pandemic bird flu and nuclear warfare.

What's the most important thing to you?
Think about cancer, and heart disease, of losing loved one, birdsong, cloud shadows on a hillside, ice underfoot.

What's the most important thing to you?
The laughter of a Grandparent, the soft falling rain, making love in a tent, the embrace of a friend.

What's the most important thing to you?
The small body of my dead child in a kind nurse's hands, the comfort of a climbing rope, the warmth of a tear.

What's the most important thing to you?
A well-earned pay cheque, the spare change in an old coat, bluetits on the feeder.

What's the most important thing to you?
Bright colours on canvas, a well-played guitar, hot tea, a good smoke and JD.

What's the most important thing to you?
The flapping of ribbons in the wind, the salt spray against rock, the twisting scream of metal against tarmac.

What's the most important thing to you?
The middle part of a good story, the sound of my friend Jayne singing, the smell of wood smoke, curling round old friends.

What's the most important thing to you?
