The reversed card trick is a simple trick that can be done with only a deck of cards and a volunteer and a little practice before your performance so you can execute it smoothly and impress your audience.
Instructions to perform the reversed card trick:
1. With your normal deck of cards before you perform your trick (and in private), make sure all your cards backsides are facing up.
Take the bottom card of the deck and flip it over so both the top and bottom of the deck show the backside of a card.
2. Fan the cards out, making sure the bottom card remains hidden from the audience, and ask your volunteer to select a card and reveal it to the rest of the audience. While they are distracted, flip the deck over so that the card that we flipped over on the bottom of the deck is now the top card of the deck. Practice making this move unnoticeable, as a careful observer in the audience could spot it and ruin your trick.
3. Replace the card into the deck where it is now facing the opposite direction of the other cards. Now, turn around and while your back is facing the audience, flip the top card over so all the cards are facing the same way except the card that was picked by the volunteer. You're on your own for coming up with a reason to turn around. Saying something about magic usually works as long as you've practiced this move enough so it seems smooth and undetectable.
4. Fan out the cards again, showing the deck to the audience with the card selected reversed. Always add a clever phrase at the end for added effect.
