Poetry: The ocean

An Ocean
Of lies
Multiplying
like flys

You swim in lifes lies
You beg for thinner thighs
You eat too much
Is that a surprise?

We all forget
what hard work is
until we are forced
to swim
inevitably
in the ocean

Every time you dial her phone
Every time you have self pity, alone
All the bills, all the loans
Just take you a little bit closer
To the ocean

Nature she always has her way
It will be tommorrow, if not today
If you fight you'll be in the ocean with scars
If you are calm you'll be on
your back
in the ocean
gazing at scars

If you work all day
You'll be in the ocean learning how to swim
If you wish all day
You'll let the ocean pull you under
If you love all day
The ocean will ripple over your heart, into your lunges
Into your body
Into your soul

So, inevitably
the ocean is our return eternally
So inevitably
the ocean is our return eternally
