Google PageRank is the name Google for the technology they use to rank the pages they index. The higher the Page Rank of a page, the higher it will appear on he searches. Basically it works with the incoming and outcoming links your page has so if a lot of people likes your page and links to it, the higher your page will appear on the searches.

Now you can start emailing all you friends to start linking to your page but wait a second. Google does not work like that. It is not just the quantity of links that count. The quality counts too and even more! The links you should have linking to your page should be from a page that has a Page Rank higher than your page has.

Ways you can make good links to your page are:
-> Posting on Forums and starting new Forum posts.
-> Commenting on Blogs that are related to your page.

Dont join link farms. These sites promise more traffic if you link to them and they link to you, but Google has an algorithm that gives more importance to pages that have genuine links.

The best way to get genuine links is as you probably heard of is having lots of good content, content that people would pay for but you give for free.
