Product reviews: Aquamira water bottle with filter

DON'T DRINK "SICK WATER"

If You Need Clean Water In The Wilderness The Aquamira Water Bottle Is The Choice.

If you've ever been camping you know that dirty water can be hard to swallow, or worse yet, it can make you sick. Now, while there are many ways to ensure clean water, McNett's Aquamira is one of the easiest to use. Aquamira has come through with a handy water bottle with built in activated carbon filter that is designed to remove pathogens 2 microns or larger, including giardia, cryptosporidium, and large bacteria. The filter also reduces many waterborne chemicals, including lead and chlorine.

This is, however, a water filter, not a water purifier, so it does not protect against waterborne viruses. Thankfully, waterborne viruses aren't a problem in most parts of the world.
The bottle holds 22 ounces of water with a protective cap, and is sized to fit in most water bottle holders, cages, or pockets.
The filters capacity about 35 gallons (about 200 bottles), depending on clarity, and is easily replaced.
To use, simply, pour in unfiltered water, replace the cap and squeeze out clean water that tastes like much like you'd buy but cheaper.
If the water is unusually dirty you can pre-filter it by running it through a coffee filter, T-shirt, sock, or whatever else you might have packed for your trip thus extending the life of your filter.

If your headed out day camping or headed abroad, the Aquamira water bottle is cheap insurance on good health.

The Bottle MSRP is $19.95 (includes 1 filter)
Replacement filters $9.95
