Yahoo Games is a good gaming website if you are trying to pass the time or getting used to using the Internet. It is aimed mainly at younger kids who are bored and want to have a little fun and the elderly who are trying to get familiar with the Internet for other uses. It allows inexperienced users to come to terms with the international expanse of the Internet. This is a great place to get your feet wet and explore the World Wide Web.

When my family first got a computer I was so excited because I heard a lot of great and at the time strange things about the Internet. So when I heard that my mom and dad were setting up emails at this popular website called Yahoo.com I decided to do the same. After I finished, I decided to explore a little and the games section caught my eye. The next few hours were a blur because I spent them trying out every game there was. I especially like Yahoo Pool, Chess, and Checkers. I usually played these games against by brother and sister but they were never a match for me so I enjoyed the challenge of playing against people all over the world. Seven years later I still enjoy these games.

About a year after my family got our first computer, my grandparents who live on the other side of the country also decided to get their first computer. Before we moved away, my grandfather and I used to play checkers all the time. So as soon as they got their computer I told them to get an email account so we could share photos and keep in contact. And I told my grandfather to go to the games section so we could play checkers. Next thing you know we are playing checkers like we lived down the street from each other again. Along with other helpful tools, Yahoo Games has helped my grandparents adjust to the age of cyberspace.

If you are a parent with a young child, or a young child yourself, or you are in anyway inexperienced when surfing the web then Yahoo Games is perfect for you. If you are a hardcore gamer (ex. World of Warcraft, Runescape), then Yahoo games may not appeal to you like it used to. But no matter how old I get I will always enjoy playing Yahoo Games and remember the great times I had playing against my grandfather a country away.
