Poetry: Drugs

Ten Milligrams

He bumped into my world,
so deep and alone,
like pillars made of stone.

After he mixed his drink,
he said I'd love to see,
but you should go...
melting like warm
winter snow.

My mind works at speeds known to few
and I'm flying higher than I should.

He said quit spinning your mind
before I move on to projecting
words that might have the harshest sting.

My mind works at speeds known to few
and I'm flying higher than I should.

He's so intense
but we don't realize
that we hold the key.
Is this our demise?
