Miniclip has been around for quite some time, and with good reason. This site offers some of the highest-quality free Flash games available on the Internet and is probably the most famous free online game site next to AddictingGames and Newgrounds. Miniclip's selection includes famous Flash games such as Heli Attack 3 and Trials, but also some lesser-known games that are a blast as well. Though, obviously, not every game is a gem, there are more than enough to keep the average gamer occupied for a while. Their library is absolutely loaded with variety, and there are great games in almost every category. Though the role-playing and first-person-shooter genres are noticeably absent (as games from these categories are available on some other sites), everything else that one can think of is available here (even a few music/rhythm-based games).
The site is also extremely well-organized, as the most popular games are clearly divided up by genre on the homepage while every single game available on the site is easily visible in an alphabetized list at the bottom of every page. It's easy to see if a new game has been added, as brand new games are always advertised on the top of the homepage. Another convenient feature is the "Top Ten Games" list for those who just want to play what everybody else is playing.
It is hard to imagine the site having any great appeal to a hardcore gamer (since these gamers have probably already bought better games), but some of the games such as Heli Attack 3 and Trials might attract some of them for at least a few minutes. However, Miniclip was obviously designed around the casual gamer who doesn't really want to spend $50-$60 on a retail game, but just wants to play some free games for a few minutes. Of course, Miniclip has already shown that it has been quite successful in attracting this crowd.
There is really almost nothing negative to say about Miniclip; it fulfills its purpose almost perfectly. It has already attracted many casual gamers and probably will continue to do so. Some of the best free games ever made can be found on this site, and there are plenty of other lesser-known gems as well. All in all, it's well worth any casual gamer's time to visit Miniclip.
