As much as you may love the holidays, and the shopping and eating that goes with it, there will always be the "grinch who stole Christmas" out there somewhere.
In particular, I mean, theft!
There are "grinches" walking up and down the rows of parking lots at shopping malls and parking lots, pretending to be happy shoppers, but really, they are watching what you do with your purchases. They couldn't be bothered earning the money to buy their own, so they are looking to lift yours!
They watch for the people who buy loads of gifts, usually the last minute shoppers, who then pile them on the back seat of the car, then go back to do more shopping. These are great targets for "grinches". Next are the more sophisticated "grinches" these are the ones that watch you load your trunk, and then have the tools to pop your trunk and lift your gifts!
It has become a big enough problem that malls are hiring security to man the parking lots, but they can't keep on top of these "grinches" as the thefts are rising, and it is more likely to happen in the last week before Christmas, when many "last minute shoppers" do all of their shopping in one go. For some shoppers, they are piling gifts into the car, that are more valuable then the car!
This is a great argument for shopping early!. If you are in this situation with last minute shopping, then come up with some kind of plan, either purchase gifts that are small enough you can carry around the mall until you are done, and then just drive home, or make a special trip home with any large electronics, it will be worth the extra gas, compared to the let down faces you would see Christmas morning, and your car insurance may not cover everything.
Shopping should be fun, and enjoyable, don't let these "grinches" ruin it for you!.. Just be more aware of your actions and your packages, especially this time of year.
