The idea of a Big Mac is cute, (and the old jingles certainly were!) but the "two all beef patties" needs to go - for economic and environmental reasons, as well as health reasons. There just isn't enough room on the planet to raise beef cows in such vast numbers. There also has been a tremendous growth in health problems derived from eating tainted beef.
For many reasons, we need to stop being addicted to beef. It's expensive to grow, taking acres and acres of land for growing the food to feed the cattle rather than just growing beans and vegetables. There are incredibly delicious vegetarian burgers and ground turkey burgers that taste exactly like beef, only with less grease.
This writer isn't a vegetarian, but cannot eat beef after eating it regularly for thirty years. My body just gets violently ill now whenever I eat it. I do not know know why this is. Could it be because my body can no longer tolerate the hormones and vast amounts of antibiotics given to beef cows? Or could it be (and this is probably the case) beef cows are unhealthy animals to begin with - bred, raised and butchered in unsanitary conditions.
I'd love to have a Big Mac again - but with veggie or turkey patties, please.
