Some men have no problem wearing a condom, others try to fight it.
If your guy tries to get out of wearing a condom, put your foot down. Don't let him go without unless:
-You're comfortable with that
-You've both been tested for STDs recently
-You have at least one other form of birth control that you know how to use
-You know that nothing is a guarantee. Birth control can fail and STDs can show up after a test.
If that criteria isn't met, don't let him go without.
Many guys say that they don't feel as much if they wear a condom. That may be true, but a little bit of decreased sensation during sex is a lot better than green discharge and itching later. Condom manufacturers also offer a wide variety to choose from. If your guy complains about lack of sensation, look for a thinner condom.
Other guys say that the condom is too tight. Condoms stretch a great deal, so most men can comfortably fit into the regular sized condom. However, some men do prefer the various special fit condoms that manufacturers offer. There are even websites available on the internet to help you and your partner decide exactly what size condom he should be wearing. A condom that fits well is actually safer than a poorly fitting condom. When the condom fits properly, it's less likely to slip off or break. Check out http://www.menstruation.com.au/fertility/condomsize. html for more information on various condom sizes.
Never forget that there's no need to rush. If your partner wants sex and does not want to wear a condom, don't give in if it's not what you want to do. It only takes one time to get pregnant or get an STD. There is always time in the future for sex after STD tests, shopping for birth control, finding a condom that fits more comfortably, etc. If a guy still puts up a fight and doesn't want to be safe about it, he's not worth your time anyway.
