Humility and how it fits into life

Jesus was a humble man. He came into a troubled world as a meek and lowly child, and He went on to live His life that way. His kindness and understanding of people was what stood out as He walked by. Some even drew healing strength from just touching the hem of His garment. He acknowledged it, and told them that their faith had made them whole.

No one really understood Him, but they didn't fear Him either. They saw in Him the ability to live among men and not be part of the world. He saw people with needs, he healed the blind, the sick, He even raised some from the dead. He had doubters, and He had followers.

He came with greatness, and yet He was born in a stable with the animals. He could have come to earth and had it all, but that was not the plan God had in store for Him. Jesus knew this when He came. And He was more than willing to do the Father's will.

Humility seems like a strange word in the world of today. Very few people live as Jesus did. There's no one who could even come close. Some don't even recognize His very existence. It's a dog eat dog world out there and thats how people choose to live

In today's sinful society, people fight for what they want. The days of sharing have been lost to a cruel world. Being meek and humble will get you trampled on. People just don't care about each other anymore. You do what you have to, to survive.

The humble will take a lot of grief and torment in order to remain faithful. But Jesus did it, and never complained. Are we better than Him? Not even close to what He was. But it is our choice as Christians to either live in humility, or or walk as the world walks.

How many people would turn the other cheek as it says in the Bible? How many would give all they had to follow Jesus. They won't even help out a neighbor.

How many people do you know that would humble down to help a street person. Or reach out a helping hand to an elderly soul that has a need. The world is too self absorbed to know what the word humble means.

There is a scripture in the Bible that tells us: "Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."1 Peter 5:5. These are the words of the Father,

It also says" Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up."James 4:10. We are to live humble before the Lord, not as the world lives, but as Jesus lived. We will never be as pure and holy as Jesus was, but our reward will be great in heaven.
