Benefits of apple cider vinegar

I had been going to my medical doctor on a regular basis for some ailments that bothered me. The biggest problem i had was with acid reflux and of course, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The last visit to my medical doctor did not go so well. We got into a very heated discussion and needless to say when i left his office I canceled my future appointments.

As I drove home the acid reflux really bothering me I decided I was going to have to do something since now I was without a doctor. I vowed I would not go back to him. At home the first thing to come to mind was the diet for my cholesterol. I immediately sent my wife to the store to buy some of the things I could eat since I was out of the cholesterol lowering medicines that had been prescribed. While she was gone I decided to research what to do for the acid reflux and high blood pressure.

I found article after article talking about apple cider vinegar and its health effects. Some of the articles made since and others not so much. I read where apple cider vinegar could be mixed with honey and water for an energy drink, where the vinegar mixed with warm water could help with acid reflux. I even cam across an article that told it was possible to lower your blood pressure with a sensible diet and a regular dose of two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar.

Now, over the years I had learned that apple cider vinegar was good for a pain reliever. A sprain or deep bruise on a muscle hurt less if you placed a towel soaked with vinegar on the painful area. I had even heard of taking doses of vinegar for long bouts of recurring pain. I was slightly skeptical though of its effects on cholesterol, blood pressure, and acid reflux. I was willing to try anything.



I started out with a mixture of two teaspoons of vinegar and one of hone in an 8 ounce glass of warm water once a day for the energy drink. I also took two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in the morning and two in the evening before bedtime. I noticed the very first day a decrease in my acid reflux and since I was monitoring my blood pressure I noticed it had went down as well.

I continued this regimen for a week. That is right, 7 days. I had more energy than I have had in 10 years. The second week I went to just 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar daily. Usually of the morning. If my acid reflux did act up I took another teaspoon as soon as possible after noticing the flair up. I still had worries about my cholesterol even though I was on the diet.

I had used the vinegar daily for about 6 months and went to the doctor about ten days ago (a different doctor of course). He did the blood work and my cholesterol was down to 540. Doesn't sound low but my cholesterol was over 1200 when i started the vinegar. My blood pressure was normal and I have not taken blood pressure pill since I started the apple cider vinegar. Thing is, I have not been on a cholesterol lowering diet in about four months.

Think what you will, believe what you like. I know the vinegar is what has lowered my cholesterol, blood pressure, and has in a sense cured my acid reflux. No more high priced prescriptions for me. Point me to the vinegar isle for some Apple Cider Vinegar. The old, new wonder drug.
