Personal means you kept to yourself and shared nothing with others. As soon as someone puts information, pictures or anything else for that matter, on the Internet, then they are no longer being personal. If the draw of the Internet is so strong and pulls at every fiber of your being, then get a secure site and put it behind a password.

For years law enforcement and other agencies have walked door to door asking neighbors what they thought about "Bob" or "Jane" next door. They have applied for a position with their organization and want to protect and serve. So why not check with those who see them every day to see how they will be on the job? Employers are in the business of making money. They invest in employees and in turn, rely upon them to make them a profit. You wouldn't buy stock before you learned at least a little about the company. Well, most of you would not! I know there are some out there that would still buy the stock because the name was cute or sounded cool. For the most part however, good investors do their homework. MySpace, YouTube and Facebook make doing that homework easy and legal.

The wide world web has just made canvasing for facts a few key strokes away. And is doing so legally. If you don't want to be judged on your behavior then do not behave in a way that will make your judged. The song says that they 'hope you dance', I would add, dance like you would in public because someone is always watching.
