Reflections: Guatamala seeks to close foreign adoptions

Guatemala seeks to close adoptions made headlines and I wonder why?. I think when it reached the 500 they should have questioned it. Now they say oh! Houston we have a problem. They problem does not relied on the public or mothers seeking income at the cost of their children. The problems is the government that has a population with 80% illiteracy. When the government does not spend any effort educating a community it always has the upper hand. Guatemala was only followed by China that has 5,423 children being adopted. I understand that either Americans or another culture that wants to adopt a child wants the best for that child, also they may want to have some type of closure and full circle with a child in their house. What about the feelings and psychological aspect of that mother that had to relied on adoption to survived economically. The government say we must stop now but the process that began will continue until we figured it out. Well that is nice. They will not stop children from being adopted what they will do is figure out how to make a better profit. Just like what happens with minors in Indonesia the government knows that minors are being sold to strangers for sex but they do not have the economic or manpower to stop it.Therefore the government does not emphasize in protect your children but we will prosecute if it is brought to our attention and the guy or person involved are brought to us. Hello! this are human being no game pieces on a game board that you move as you wish. Who has put this people in power?. Where is their literacy level?. Have they taken at least psychology 101?. Guatemala has government with potential like any other. They just need to restructure their priorities. They need to concentrate on education like many other countries to get their people out the slump and lethargic effect they are in.
