For many people the numerous little stresses that come along with the Christmas season can overpower the enjoyment of the holiday. The stress and frustration that they are forced to endure, is obvious on their faces, and in their dampened attitude toward what should be a very enjoyable time for them.
Business people who find themselves overworked to the breaking point, lower income families who experience added pressure to squeak extra monies out of their already too tight financial budgets, or the overworked mom who now finds herself having extra shopping, entertaining and cooking to add to her already busy schedule. For these individuals added seasonal pressures definitely encourage a major lack of "Christmas spirit", and with little wonder as to why!
Perhaps I am very intuitive, or just too darn sensitive, but it breaks my heart to see this stress exist where it shouldn't. So every year I give a few very special gifts that usually precede the actual holiday itself, they are what uplift my spirit, and get me into a warm holiday mood. The few special gifts that I give are often not expensive, sometimes not even obvious to the people who receive them, sometimes they are given anonymously, and sometimes they are not. Each year I give a few presents that are orchestrated with the sole intention of eliminating a few factors that are interfering with the joy of Christmas.

He was told that they had made other plans and he would just have to find something else to do that day but he could have his child on New Years Eve. He was devastated! I spent the Christmas season with him, both of us pretending that each passing day was just a regular one, and busily preparing for our new Christmas which we now planned to celebrate on New Years Eve. We discussed potential gifts and meal plans, shopped and wrapped presents together, and excitedly planned out our Christmas season and everyone that we would invite to share it with us. New Years Eve arrived and as our guests filled the house, the festivities began. We put up the tree, strung popcorn, decorated the tree, and with his son in attendance, we celebrated Christmas in true holiday spirit.
Another gift was me showing up at a single parents home with a shopping trip worth of groceries and proudly exclaiming, "Don't worry about it, you
