preform or show up anywhere from 1-4 hours late, regardless of the rest of the bands input. They even had a scare preforming at a TV music awards show, when Axl wanted to drive there with his girlfriend. They didn't think they were going to preform until he walked in the door 15 minutes prior to when they were going on stage.
And its not as if not showing up was the only reason Axl was poking the bear with a stick, so to speak. While opening up for the Rolling Stones in 1990, he announced to the crowd that he was going to quit the band if the rest of the bandmates didn't quit "dancing with Mr. Brownstone." As far as that comment goes, it was entirely unnecessary and a very childish move. In the early 90's the band went to Chicago in an attempt to get something new accomplished, and be away from the distractions in LA. Slash recalls an incident where some girls came over to the apartment and were having a good time. But when they wouldn't have sex with Axl, so he flipped out, started yelling and breaking things and threw the girls out of the apartment. As far as the rest of the band is concerned, they think his reaction was completely out of line and idiotic, and there is no reason not to agree. Outrageous spending was another problem of Axls, and while the band was at its peak, Axl would rent yachts and other lavish things for them to hang out on, when everyone else just wanted to play music.
Other decisions were made by Axl, about the band, without consulting the rest of the members. If a group is working as a whole, for a common goal, one person can step up and be a leader, but cannot become a dictator. When Axl hired friend Paul Huge to join the band, and remixed a cover of a Rolling Stones song so that his sound was portrayed more than everyone else's, it was the straw that broke the camels back. Once Izzy was out for Huge, Axl wanted everyone in the band to sign contracts. Contracts? Yes, contracts essentially making everyone else in the band an employee of Axl, and if they ever broke up, Axl would get the GNR name. Basically the band fell apart, with Slash opening the door for the rest of the members.
Should Axl Rose be blamed for the breakup of Guns N Roses? Of course. Regardless of anyones childhood, or previous life experiences, if you are in a band, the band comes first. You didn't see anyone else being emotional and refusing to play because their childhood wasn't perfect. The rest of the band made the sacrifices, while Axl would reap the rewards. And
