Reflections: Being a pagan at Christmastime

As Christmas rolls around I wonder and my little baby boy. It's his first Christmas and he finds every little thing amazing from the lights to the bulbs on the trees. This is the first Pagan Christmas I've celebrated as I am Pagan but my Boyfriend is Catholic. Within two months my son was blessed as a Pagan and Baptized Catholic. On Christmas this year I will get to exchange presents and sing carols for my son and on new years we will be ringing his bell in pagan tradition to bless the new year. I'm proud to have a mixture of religion in my family and I can honestly say that I am happy I'm giving my son the greatest gift he will recieve in his life. I'm giving him the right to choose whatever he wants for himself one day and that starts now with respecting and participating in teaching my son everything I can not just about my own beliefs but about the beliefs of others as well.

SO Merry Christmas to all and if you ever get frustrated and annoyed with the overdone overdecorated christmas season consider this. These traditions were built on love, family, and other bautiful things. Play along, be respectful, and do a spell for happiness and good will because you don't have to believe in Jesus to believe that his message was a good one.
