The worst NFL quarterbacks of 2007

As the season winds down and the playoff picture is taking shape, but for some there is always next year. We've seen Tom put up video game stats in New England. Peyton deal with offensive injuries and have Indy right there for another Super Bowl. Tony emerge as a premier quarterback in the league with help from T.O. and Jason. Then of course last but certainly not least Brett Favre transforming into a young kid again looking for one more Super Bowl ring in the twilight of his career as he eclipses NFL records left and right.

However many teams looked promising at the beginning of year on paper to make a playoff run only to have injuries, jealousy, and authorities get in the way. While many can say this player or that caused there team to lose face throughout the season we know 5 starting quarterbacks who didn't help when the going got tough and probably hurt their team most. Who's on your list?

#5 Carson Palmer-Cincinnati Bengals: The team as a whole has completely underachieved this year and while Palmer's numbers have morphed others on this list (except for his INT's at 17 ranked first out of the 10 players we researched) he must be placed at the #5 spot for lack of leadership. Unbias as I am living in Cincinnati and rooting for AFC West teams, the press conferences of Palmer and laid back demeanor with players on the field has become tiresome for Cincinnati fans. There was a day when coach Marvin Lewis was stern, but those seemed to have passed and he has rubbed off on Carson in 2007.

All I can say is, if the defense can't hold their own, then use the trio of running backs you have and keep them off the field. Its a little too late now, but we thought we'd throw our two sense in. Sorry Carson, your a nice guy, but we all know where they finish. Better luck next year Bengals.

#4 Chad Pennington-New York Jets: Not sure if Chad ever should have comeback after his first shoulder injury. No one in New York has confidence in him anymore and have all started backing Kellen Clemens. He has no karma with any of the receivers except for Coles, but when he is injured Pennington is a different quarterback. Although completing 67% of his passes he did not throw for 300 yards in a game the entire season, 5 of his 9 touchdown passes were against Miami and Cincinnati (see Carson Palmer), and even with a chance to try to save face against New England (12/16) he threw 38 times for no touchdowns and his longest pass was only 16 yards even though he completed 65.8 % of his passes.
