Reports of main stream media bias are nothing new in this day and age, so it is almost expected to have more of these reports regarding the upcoming Presidential election, but is there really any truth to them? Take Presidential Candidate Ron Paul, for example. Normally, the media would be quick to give time and attention to an "underdog" candidate that is rapidly gaining support and funding for his campaign, but that does not seem to be happening in the case of Ron Paul's campaign. In fact, just the opposite seems to be happening.
Ron Paul, a candidate for the Republican nomination for the 2008 Election, stands for core American values and beliefs. While some may oppose his way of accomplishing certain things and his stance on some issues, most have to agree that the basic principles and beliefs behind his campaign are in the best interest of America. Ron Paul has one of the most consistent voting records in Congress, which means that he can be counted on to vote and stand behind what he says. If he states that he is for an issue, he will vote for it; what he won't do is change his stance on the issue when it is time to vote.
Ron Paul believes that the best way to control spending and balance America's out of control budget is to come up with a new, and constitutional way, to prioritize spending. He believes that this can be done by cutting excess and wasteful spending habits in the government - just what most elected officials don't want to happen. He plans to lessen or cut the control that world government organizations like NAFTA and the UN have on America, thus stopping the threat to America's independence and freedom that these organizations present.
Ron Paul wants to spend more time worrying about the important issues and problems here on the home front, instead of concentrating on helping - and in some cases, interfering with - other countries governments and problems. His strong immigration policy will help improve border security and lessen the problems with illegal immigration in the United States today. He also believes in fighting for and protecting our Second Amendment Rights and the Right to Bear Arms. With all of these principles and beliefs, it is hard to believe that there is not more mention of Ron Paul's campaign in the media. Perhaps the media is simply ignoring him, because of these core values and principles. Perhaps they are afraid he will win.
Omission in and of itself is not enough to constitute bias, but when combined with numerous examples
