Reflections: Does it have to be new age or organized religion?

Humans love to label each other, and often get bogged down in the ritual and dogma of organized religion. The most important aspect of any practicing religion is to understand that there is a higher power. Doesn't really matter what name we call this higher power; God, Great Mystery, Allah, Buddha, The universe, or even a number of other names, the fact is that a higher power exists.

Organized religion is based on man-made dogma taken from spiritual contexts. New Age is another label placed on the people that have rejected organized religion. Really neither one has to be a must. What is a must is to believe in a faith, and practice that faith. Believing in a higher power and understanding that we humans have no control over anything, and that the higher power has control of all. We must learn to accept that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. This concept doesn't need any labels.

New age is a man-made label, for those people who think, act, and practice a faith that is not of the norm. Organized religion is man-made religion, and is wrapped up in the ritual of the past. No matter what, we need to have and be open to free thinking, faith based people. The name or label of the religion doesn't matter. What truly matters is having an open mind and allowing others to believe in their own faith.

Faith is based on truth of the higher power. Faith is where we live day to day. Faith is the concern of each individual, and it doesn't matter whether it's New Age or an Organized religion. Practice your faith and live your faith everyday.
