Essentials for biking safety

.) Before your bike tour make a small invetigation. Check a map, ask some friends if there are some bicycle paths where you are going to. If it's possible try to use them. This will not only safe your time but also make your journey safe. You will not have to go along the road full of cars and other dangerous for you vehicles.

.) Make sure you are equipped with not only a head helmet but also epaulettes and knee-pads. Young people don't like to use because they think they might look stupid. Well, imagine how stupid you're gonna look like when wearing plaster cast on all your body. Epaulettes and knee-pads protect your imbs from breaking but it's head helmet that is crucial. Injuring your head can cause a brain damage leading to disability or even death. So remember to wear it and wear it right. it should cover your forehead and the sripes should be always fastened.

.) Especially on a rainy, foggy day and during the night but preferably in all weather conditions you have to make yourself visible to other road users. You can never trust other drivers in 100%, you cannot assume that will see you on time. That's why wearing a bright coloured jacket and putting reflector on your bike is a must.

.) Never get on a too big or too small bike. Make sure the bike is fitted for you. Otherwise you will not be comfortable and can't concentrate on riding it.

.) Before you hit a road make sure a seat, wheels and handle bars are not loose.

.) Be sure that the tires have enough air in them and the brakes are working well.

.) Always have a container full of water with you. Riding a bike is tiring and when there are no places to buy a refreshment along the road you might want to stop for a while and drink.

.) Take a cell phone with you. you should always have something with you to call for help if something bad happens.
