to say anything because you're afraid of the potential consequences, but take it form me, it's much better for you in the long run to deal with the problem head on before you are 30 year old woman, working the streets to get your family's food for the week.
Then there are the people who are way too invested in their work when they should invest that time into more important things like friends and family. A common misconception about these people is that they are perfectionists when that is not necessarily true. Work for some people can be an escape or haven from all of the negative effects from the other parts of their lives, but worse than being obsessed with work is being obsessed with dumb things like video games. You lose sight of everything that is important: family, friends, work, school, or even food and sleep.
Plus video games can, and sometimes do, corrupt you. You start to do what you see in the game and that can lead to arrests and jail time. Say you're a teenager and you see some video game with pot references and then, in real life, you find a buddy who knows a guy that can get you pot. And your friend asks you and you're a 15 year old boy so of course you're going to say yes. Now this is an unlikely scenario albeit but still gives the message of how video games can mess with your head. I don't know about you but I don't want my friends dying from some dumb avoidable stuff like that. And most of these kids are in high school, and part of some generic high school crowd.
The jocks, the geeks, nerds, cheerleaders, etc all play a part in reason #8 of why I hate the world we live in. We (high school students) are told by movies and TV that high school groups are not accepting of different people from different groups and backgrounds and that is just not true. I have friends in all different groups and it's because they, like every other human on Earth, want to talk to people.
But then there are people who want other people around so they can rule over them, I call them power hungry people. I'm no fan of these power-holics, they make everything they do into a way for them to prove their dominance over everyone else, and it's actually quite pathetic. Their whole reason for living, in their eyes, is to prove to everyone else that they are the unquestioned person in any and all situations.
And despite all of these things on this list: stingy people, people who care too much, bullies, people who won't stand up for themselves, people who can't have people not like them, people too obsessed with work or video games, the generic high school crowds, and power hungry people; there is one thing I hate so much more, people who dwell on hate. When you focus so much on hate, your perception of everything is skewed and you don't really enjoy life. You can become paranoid and confused about why someone didn't call you one day or did something insignificant but you blew up anyways. Those people, and that included me at one time, need to find a way to channel that anger in healthy ways so they don't blow up at the wrong person for something small.
Look, I'm not saying to print these things out and put them on a poster for all to see, although that would be cool, I'm just saying to read this and take stock of what is important to you and how any of these things affect you.
