Christmas tree ornaments can be fun to make and will last many generations. When I was a kid we used to paint lightbulbs and hang them on the tree, and here is what you will need.
As many Burnt out lightbulbs as you can get, have your friends give you thiers
You can also use new lightbulbs because they are inexpensive and esasy to find.
Paint (don't worry it does not have to be heat proofed because you won't be using these lightbulbs for anything but decoration anyway)
Paint brushes
Glitter
Glue
construction paper
Paper plate
Ribbon or string
Sometimes we would roll the lightbulb around in a puddle of paint that was poured onto a paper plate, which is great if you want uneven and all over color. However after you let that dry, you can paint whatever you want on it and even include glitter. If all the paint is dry, paint some elmers glue in a design on the light bulb, then sprinkle it with glitter.
After you have created your own creative work of art, it will be time to hang your new ornament on the tree. You will need to tie ribbon or string on the small end of the light bulb (The part that screws into the socket). It is a good idea to put some glue underneath the ribbon you are using just to be safe and prevent it from slipping out and breaking all over your floor, especially if you have hard wood floors like we did.
When the glue has dried (don't get me wrong, you will still need to tie it tightly even if you are gluing for extra security) then it is time to hang it on your tree. If you have used glitter, put it right in front of a light, it will look fabulous and catch everyones eyes when they are checking out your custom made tree!
Merry christmas!
