huge corporate sites or complex multimedia applications. It would be silly to try and describe more of them here, because the choice is simply too vast.

Having discussed the many options available and covered some of the pros and cons, I'd like to put it into more simple terms now. Creating your site yourself in html gives you complete freedom but requires knowledge, time and patience. Using a site builder of some kind can be simple and quick or complex and time consuming, depending on the tool you choose and your level of knowledge. Either method can be more suitable for different people with different skills and different needs.

As you can probably tell, I am a fan of writing your own code, and I'm going to end this article with my reasons for my choice. As I explained further up, having properly written code is beneficial in many ways, and I firmly believe that the only way to guarantee perfect code is to fully understand the code, the browsers that will read the code, and the current best practices in the industry, so that you can write your own code and know that it is correct. This kind of thing probably doesn't matter to people putting together a small website that not many people will see, but I believe it should be important to anyone building a serious site, especially if they are hoping to attract lots of traffic and achieve good search engine rankings.
