well with future browsers if it is well formed and correct.
Bearing these things in mind, let's now look at how the code can be created. As I mentioned before, you can either write the code yourself or use a program that will write it for you. There are various ways of doing both, which I will explain here along with their benefits and shortcomings.
As a web designer, it is important to me to have perfect code, so I write my own code in a simple text editor. I use Gedit for linux. Text editors range from the most basic like Notepad in windows, to more advanced ones which highlight your code to help you make sense of it, provide drop down lists of code snippets to help you code faster, show a preview of how your webpage will look and so on.
If you choose to use a text editor and write your own code, you are in complete control of what is written. This means that you have complete freedom to create whatever you can imagine, and it also means that you are stuck with any mistakes you make. If you don't fully understand what you're doing, it is easy to make a terrible mess of things. Also, it is common for beginners to believe that their code is good because their webpage looks right. On the other hand, writing poor code is often the first step in learning how to write great code, as long as you continue to learn about best practices and make corrections to your code.
Html and css can be very versatile if you are willing to learn how to use them properly, but it is necessary to keep learning and updating your knowledge so that you can keep up with latest changes and best practices. It can be very tedious to write your own code and keep all your pages up to date if you use html on it's own, for example if you have a navigation menu on every page of your site and you wish to add a new page to it. It can however be combined with scripting languages that allow you to reuse the same block of code over several pages, so that you can update your menu only once and it will affect every page on your site.
Scripting languages have a much steeper learning curve than html and css, but the possibilities truly are endless. If you have the inclination, time and patience to learna scripting language, you can create interactive content on your site, build web applications, contact pages, forums, and anything else you can possibly imagine. Again though, if you make mistakes you have to find and fix them yourself, and if you don't know what you're doing you are likely to end up with a
