a day from pregnancy. An insufficient amount of water can lead to decreased milk and physical exhaustion. It is imperative that you drink every time you feed your baby to replenish the fluids he or she has taken. Prenatal vitamins are also important because they contain extra B vitamins that are critical to both yours and your baby's health. Read the label. The directions on prenatal vitamins say "for pregnant and lactating women." You also need to make sure you are eating enough. You need to be eating more protein than usual. Your pediatrician can explain exactly what she wants you to be eating because sufficient protein intake is not the same for all of us. Your doctor will probably recommend you consume an additional 15 grams of protein daily now that you are breastfeeding.
