How to write more a day

and read my assignment, I would give myself one hour to write in my journal, or work on a short story. This allowed me to squeeze in a little bit of writing time every day, and it worked well in a situation that wouldn't permit me to spend the same time, such as from six p.m. until seven p.m., due to schedule overload. If you are blessed enough to be able to set aside special blocks of time for your writing, this is extremely effective. Not only are you committing yourself to getting some writing done, you enter that time with a mindset of productivity which will help you get more written in a day.

3) Set writing goals. In the midst of deadlines, it is necessary to set writing goals. Most writers I know work under a time-crunch system. They prioritize the writing that is due first, and finish it first. This is likely going to be how you have to set your writing goals initially, but after a few weeks of setting and meeting your writing goals, you'll find that you can work on projects that are not needed immediately. If you're working on a large project, don't even think about setting page goals, as in "every day I will write four pages." You will find that some days those four pages will take you several hours, and other days you will be finished them in one. Instead, set your goals according to your abilities and scope. You will know better than anyone which parts of your project will be difficult to write and which will be easy. If you are nearing a place in your writing that you are dreading, go at it a paragraph at a time. Set yourself goals like, one paragraph in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. This will slowly get you past the bumpy areas of your writing, and you'll gain confidence as you continue. Once you have caught up with your time-crunch goals, you can set writing goals for all of those extra projects that you've been putting on hold.

4) Find an accountability partner. If you can afford a writing coach, this is supposed to be a great way to actually get more written every day. If you're on a budget, you can find someone whom you respect and ask them to follow up on your writing schedule. If you've set a writing goal of finishing eight paragraphs by next Tuesday, ask your accountability partner to call you next Tuesday and ask whether or not you were able to meet your deadline. If you have succeeded, you can rejoice with your friend and be supported. If you have failed, you're going to want to talk about why things didn't
