The dangers of eating undercooked meat

The underlie bacteria in raw and undercook meat is the reason for most of the dangerous diseases. They are very harmful and life threatening. So ,well washed and thoroughly cooked meat is safe for all kind of reasons. The main diseases caused by contaminated or uncooked meat are:

• Listeria monocytogenes: this is deadly disease has symptoms like diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain, sever headache with high fever and nausea. This has great effect on pregnant women, new born. Because, these bacteria weakens the immune system and spoil the fetus and lead to miscarriages or abortions.

• E-coli: this disease effects the kidneys and may cause kidney failure. Its symptoms are uncontrollable loose motions. some times it may lead to life threatening.

• Other diseases are cholera, salmonella, dysentery, trichinellosis infection, toxoplasmosis that effect both fetus and pregnants, food poisoning, bird flue through chicks,camphylobacter, etc.

The only solution is PREVENTION. By following certain guideline while cooking the meat we can prevent these life threatening diseases and save many lives including ourselves.

• Wash chopping pads, knifes, bowls or vessels in which you keep raw meat thoroughly with detergent or dish wash liquid before and after use.

• Store the cooked food in separate clean bowls instead of keeping them in the same bowl that used for cleaning the meat.

• Boil the meat thoroughly to kill all bacteria.

• Use separate chopping boards for cutting meat and vegetables.

• Keep the frozen meat which you buy from shop, in refrigerator immediately after reaching the home.

• If there are any leftovers then place them immediately in deep fridge after cutting is finished.

Washing hands thoroughly before and after eating the food is best prevention of many harmful bacteria.
