Only Today
So little time remains
Days fly by in soft refrains
Regimented stock works seem to guide
Giving me no place to hide
It's the world that hems me in
Walking with my chest to chin
I can't ignore the clamor or
Maybe I won't see the sore
How can I change those around
If I myself can not abound
Where have all the days gone by
Like smoke into the starry sky
Today's the only treasure chest
Let's do God's work and make it blessed

Poetry: Today
BETTER DAYS
Take me back to yesterday
When man would mean what he would say
Back to when the country was green and lush
And
Today, the spring wind
sighs and moans
outside my window.
Today, the travel clock
ticks away on the shelf
above my desk.
Today,
The problems left from yesterday
Will press upon our brains
The hopes we have for future days
Will tease us yet again
If
by Sid de Knees
I've grown today
This night a half moon passes by,
and but a few stars shine between,
the dark clouds clouding up the sky,
Today Or So It Seems
As I sit here today I remember yesterday
How long ago it seems. It flew by so fast
As if it was a dream
