Ribbon of choice in 1/2 inch width

~Pinecone ornaments for use in wreaths:
1. Determine what color pinecone will look best in the wreath. Spray paint the pinecone(s) according to directions on can.
2. Once dry, cut a 12 inch length of floral wire and attach to the pinecone by threading under the pinecone "petals" toward the bottom of the pinecone. Twist the two ends of the floral wire together until it is tightly secured around the pinecone and out of site.
3. Attach the pinecone to the wreath by inserting one end of the wires through the center of the wreath and the other end on the outside of the wreath. Twist the two ends together until it is securely held. Cut off exposed wire ends on the back of the wreath. Remember to add pinecones to wreath in odd numbers. For example, use one, three, five, etc., pinecones per wreath.

~Pinecone ornaments for use in a Christmas tree:
1. Follow directions 1 and 2 for wreath above. Wire hanger optional. Ribbon of choice may be used in place of wire making sure to have enough excess ribbon to hang ornament from branch on tree.
2. Glue beads on to "petals" of pinecone to simulate Christmas ornament balls.
3. Optional: Using ribbon, make a small pretty bow and glue to the top of the pinecone.
4. Attach to branch on tree by either wire or fabric loop on pinecone ornament.

Handmade ornaments such as these add a festive and creative touch to the Holiday decorations. Using gold or silver paint lends a very luxurious and rich look to the pinecones, while green and white will add to the rustic or country flair of the decorating spectrum. No matter the personal preference, they are sure to add to the festive touches around the house.
