I can not remember when the moment was I stopped believing in Santa Clause. I grew up the youngest of three children. I was the only girl and the youngest by ten years. My older brothers never told me that Santa was not real, but always tried to play along with my parents to keep the spirit of Santa alive.
Now I have my own children and I want them to experience the joys that believing in Santa Clause Brings to a child. That is why I was very excited when I had my first Santa letter experience a few years ago. My oldest child was then four years old and wanted to write a letter to Santa Clause. It was one of my most memorable and cherished experiences. It was a little daunting because I had to say every letter for every word he wanted to write, but fortunately it was relatively short. I was shocked how well he was doing writing on his own and it was adorable to see him write all the words together. After we were all done I realized I had a keepsake to keep for years to come. Years and years will go by, and years just seem to run together, but these letters will help distinguish one Christmas from another Christmas.
Years from now when my children are older and maybe even have a family of there own. I can look back on these letters and have a window to a time when my children were full of innocents, and wonder. I can remember and share with them what it was like to believe in Santa Clause.
