There are many that have supposed benefits for people with diabetes, such as Karela, also known as bitter gourd and bitter melon, Fenugreek seeds, Shudh Shilajit, onion, garlic, cinnamon, Celery these are all said to either reduce the effects of diabetes, regulate blood sugar or completely cure a person, depending on who you are listening to.
Karela comes in tablet form and is said to be useful in lowering the individuals blood sugar level.
The food based suggestions are basically just common sense, Eat well (no sugar mind),
Excercise, live a health balanced life and indeed take any supplements that are available.
The above remedies are all useful in lowering blood sugar, however the best, safest and most commonly used way to regulate a persons blood sugar is still and probably will be for a long while to come, insulin.
The benefits of any remedies depend on the person taking them, do they have a good diet or not? do they exercise well? do they drink any alcohol? have they got any other medical problems apart from diabetes that may cause difficulties with their diabetes?.
All these things have to be taken into account. But on the whole, if a person sticks to what they know they should be doing any supplement is an excellent idea as long as they remember to continue doing so and not just sporadically.
