Travel destinations: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is a city that is in constant motion. From the breakfast shops that open as early as 4 a.m. to the clubs that don't close until 2 a.m., the city never really stops.

Restaurant Row, which spans a large portion of highway 17, holds tastes, flavors and atmospheres for all ages. From down home country restaurants to those with a definite club feel it's hard not to find a place that suits your cravings.

Known as one of the premier golf meccas in the country, Myrtle satisfies golfers of any skill level. Courses abound that will challenge the amateur golfer and those with professional golfing aspirations. Players come from all across the country to experience this golfing paradise.

Shopping opportunities in the area are endless. Anything from old time beach stores to outlets featuring brand name items at incredible savings is available. Add to this two magnificent outdoor shopping complexes that could best be described as shopping extravaganzas and the shopper in your family will have enough choices to fill their days and nights with joy.

If family activities are what you are looking for you won't be disappointed. Museums, arcades, miniature golf, an alligator farm and an aquarium await you. Myrtle Beach also has it's own minor league baseball affiliate, the Pelicans, so be sure to catch a game if you get the chance.

If nightlife is what you desire Myrtle Beach is also for you. Country themed to Broadway style shows will fill your ears with music fit for every generation. There are also shows which feature big name entertainers and comedians performing regularly. The possibilities are endless.

If all of this activity is not what you are looking for that's okay, too. All you have to do is turn your eyes to the east and take in the vast serenity of the Atlantic Ocean. With some of the widest beaches on the east coast and the warm ocean breezes, the Myrtle Beach area delights and relaxes people of all ages. Fishermen can opt for a charter tour or fish from one of the many piers that jut out into the ocean. Beachcombers can walk the shores looking for the perfect seashell to add to their collection. Sun-seekers can lay on the beach, ride the waves or build the sandcastle of their dreams. The beaches are magnificent and the waters are warm. The perfect combination for a relaxing, slow paced vacation.

Myrtle Beach is a travel destination that can give you whatever experience you desire. Fast, slow or in between, you really ought to give it a try.
