Which fashion fads to ignore

It's something I've noticed several times. Something becomes cool, a new trend, and everyone's wearing it. The only problem is, it looks absolutely awful. Here are some of the most awful fashion trends currently around.

1. Extreme smock tops.

Remember the good old days, when it was easy to tell who was pregnant and who wasn't? Then everyone started wearing smock tops', and every other girl looks pregnant (only without the healthy glow). There are a group of girls at my college who wear tops like this constantly. One is in my maths class. Her tops consist of an elastic strip holding the top up around her boobs (and consequently making them look droopy and deformed) and then hangs down like one of those basin curtains' that I always thought were pretty silly anyway. Usually they are in a loud, old fashioned carpet style pattern just to finish it off. These tops are awful. There's a whole section of them in Primark, it seems like they are taking over. However, you must resist all temptations to wear them; they add a stone on even the skinniest girls.

2. Ugg boots... with shorts.

Is it hot? Is it cold? Please decide and dress appropriately. Wearing big thick boots suggests you are too cold, and wearing shorts without tights suggests preparation for warm weather. If you wear both at once, you will certainly be uncomfortable. Everyday styles should look appropriate. Dressing like a mix up of the seasons makes you look desperate.

3. Strange coloured tights that are somewhat similar to skin colour.

This one is a bit harder to describe. Basically, I saw a woman in the train station with patterned white tights. At least that's what they were when I looked really closely, initially I thought she had some kind of skin disease. The same goes for those gold, glittery tights. They're too close to skin coloured. From far away or initially they just look odd.

4. Flip flops for men (apart from on the beach and stuff)

That's basically it. Don't pretend you're on holiday when you're not. We don't want to see your huge hairy man feet.

5. On a similar note, Crocs.

These just look stupid, like giant comedy clown shoes crossed with a piece of Swiss cheese.

Okay, if you thing these trends look good then totally go for it. However, don't just wear them because other people are, think seriously about how they look. Does this trend really accentuate your best features? Always consider that question before following the latest fashion.
