How to tell if you are gay

If you even have to ask the question you probably already know the answer. When we are born there are no pre-printed birth certificates that come with us stating what our sexual preferences are going to be when we get old enough to even wonder about it. Trust me; it would be much easier if we did, though.

There are stereotypes and myths floating around about how to tell if you are gay or not. Some are rather interesting, too. Mullet = gay. Liking musicals = gay. Good-looking men = gay. Flannel-wearing woman = gay. So many stereotypes, so little time (and not to mention space).

Saying your gay is like saying your old. No one wants to be old. It's a word with many definitions, but most people use it to define who they are. Do you have to categorize yourself? Do I have to tell everyone I meet that I'm a lesbian? Nope! Just like you wouldn't want to introduce yourself as being a racist or a murderer.

There are no gay countries, no gay languages, no gay handshake, no gay schools, no gay profession sport teams and no gay homes. Until we have one or all of these, being gay will never be as socially accepted as we want. So, how do you tell if you are gay? I have no idea.I sometimes have a hard enough time just being me.
