God's Bank And Trust: Storing up treasures in Heaven

We're all familiar with how banks work on earth. You open an account and deposit money. Depending on the type of account and bank, you can earn interest on what you put in. The flip side of what goes in is what comes out. You have to be careful not to take out more than you have in the account. God's Bank and Trust is similar. Except He doesn't charge you exorbitant fees if you mistakenly overdraft the account.

In fact, you have to work hard to overdraft His accounts. Like the loving Father He is, He deposits Grace and Mercy into every account each morning. All you need to do to access the deposit is slide in your card with the Repentance Logo and it flows freely from Heaven's ATM along with your receipt marked Forgiveness. And you never have to search for one of these ATMs. They're never farther away than your knees. Our accounts on earth are covered only up to $100,000 by the FDIC. Our Heavenly account is covered for an unlimited value by the BoJC (Blood of Jesus Christ). This coverage insures not only against theft, but also decay, destruction and diminishing value. Our deposit will last forever.

God encourages us to lay up all our treasures in this well-insured account. Still, some of us are confused about what we should deposit. No worries, though. God left us a deposit slip to guide us called The Bible. Let's take a look at some of the deposits God's Bank and Trust accepts. Basic deposits include: 1) going to church, 2) reading the Word, 3) tithing the tenth, 4) praising and 5) praying because we are told to seek His kingdom and righteousness first in Matthew 6:33. Other basic deposits that are often overlooked or perhaps ignored are 1) Obedience , 2) Forgiveness , 3) Humility.

As we mature in Christ, we mature in our deposits. The next level consists of things we do to build our character. 2 Peter 1:5-8 says, "And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue (moral excellence); and to virtue knowledge (intelligence); And to knowledge temperance (self-control); and to temperance patience (endurance); and to patience godliness (holiness); And to godliness brotherly kindness (brotherly affection); and to brotherly kindness charity (love). For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Now that we have our own house in order we're fit for the next level of deposit: Christian Service. "And God
