Christmas trees are a seasonal crop like as pumpkins or watermelons we shouldn't even imply that felling Xmas trees is wrong. We must recognize that we're cutting down trees grown on a farm and not from the wild. In fact many families depend on the Christmas tree sales to get through rural winters.
Speaking through experience with both kinds, live trees always surpass PVC imitations. There's something special about the smell of pine sap during the holidays. It's a reminder of the bonds of family and friends and icon to tradition that remind us of bygone years. Imitation trees offer the convenience of buying it at a store for the same price as a real tree with the exception that it can be reused next year.
Is convenience the determining factor in buying a tree? The fake scent of pine incense can not cover up the thin plastic needles and wire limbs. To all of you who intend on reusing these PVC dopplegangers, I say: 'Take a moment to think this over. Do you want your children to grow up with fond memories of assembling Xmas trees in the living room?'
You can decide on your own. The choice is either wood or plastic. Personally Christmas is a time to slow down and appreciate everything in life. Let yourself absorb into these festive days and spend time with those close to you. There isn't anything morally wrong with plastic tress, but can you feel close to your loved ones in aisle 4?
