Is Christianity dying out? It is not possible. Are Christian religions dying out? Hopefully.
This may sound like a contradiction, but it is not. True Christianity is not a religion, but over the centuries mankind has turned it into a religion. Many have taking the teachings of Christ and the Bible and turned it into lists of things we need to do in order to be justified before God and receive eternal life.
This has been the same deception used since the very beginning where Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit. They were asked to think about themselves and how they may benefit by becoming like God if they partook of the fruit. The same deception exists today with religions, many of which claim to be Christian.
The religions either state certain actions must be done in order to be justified in God's eyes, or some have it correct in acknowledging salvation only comes through grace and without works. Those that correctly acknowledge true Christian salvation, fail in focusing on do and don't lists to maintain favor with God.
True Christianity teaches salvation only comes through faith in Christ and not through works. It also teaches that legalism (religions that teach you must adhere to a set of rules) is not pleasing to God and neither is license (religions that teach it is okay to break rules because the flesh is week and salvation is a spiritual thing and as long as that is in order all is okay).
True Christianity focuses on Christ and building a relationship with God. It is a matter of the heart and acknowledging one's place. Not a matter of what one should or should not do. Instead if the heart is right, the things one should and should not do will become automatic.
The irony of it all is that Christ spoke about how true believers (true Christians) would be a minority and a few. Those few would make up a body of believers, which are the true church, not walls and buildings. It also teaches that those religions would one day pass away. Christianity is not measured in quantity of number, but in the truth of what it teaches, making it alive a vibrant today as it was two thousand years ago.
