Tips for organizing a stress-free Christmas party

Its time of year again, when there are plenty of Christmas celebrations going on. You may be thinking about throwing a a fun Christmas party yourself, but the task may seem a bit daunting. Rest assured that you can organize a Christmas party with little or better yet NO stress! Staying organized throughout the planning of the party can greatly reduce that stressed crazed feeling. Here are some tips that are sure to help you reduce the stress so you can sit back and enjoy the festivities yourself as well as your guests.

* Make a list of all those you wish to come to your Christmas party. Send out the invitations two to three weeks in advance, this way the guests have plenty of time to fit the party into their schedules.

* Decide how you want everyone to dress and put it on the invitations. Many people love dressing up for the holidays, so you can choose to make it a dressy cocktail themed party. If you want it more causal then say that in the invitation.

* Make a budget that you have to stick to for the party. This can help you when it comes time to think about food, drinks and decorations. Knowing your limit and knowing that you have to stick to it can help you when you begin your shopping.

* Decorate the night before the event or even a few nights before. Since it is Christmas you can leave the decorations up for the whole month if you choose, so whenever you find the time to decorate, go ahead.

* Make a list of all the essentials that you are going to need for your party so that you do not forget anything before going to the store. A list of essentials may be the following...

plates
napkins
cups
u tensils
drinks both alcoholic and nonalcoholic
decorations
ingredi ents for any food that you may be making yourself
Christmas music
candles

* If you want to keep things easy then plan on playing the gift exchange game. Have everyone only bring one gift to place in the game. The gift should be in a certain price range, say $30. Then depending on how many guests are participating in the game, write a number on each sheet of paper. Next have the guests draw a number. According to that number that is the order in which they go in choosing a gift from the gifts that were brought. Then after everyone opens the gifts you can exchange with willing participants.

* Have some close friends or family members that are attending the party help out with food and drinks. Any help is appreciated and do not turn any help down with decorating either. The more the help you receive the easier it is
