Tevez would have been a good signing for any English club. He's a typical Argentinian footballer, strong with a low centre of gravity. He's adapted to the physical English game very well. He breaks quickly from midfield, fights for the ball, passes quickly along the ground, has a great first, second and third touch, and a deadly striker's eye for a goal. It's his forward thinking ability to get upfield that attracted Ferguson who likes players to punish teams when they lose possession. Tevez is a similar player to Rooney, and yet they are able to play together at Manchester United. His ability to think and adapt to surroundings is amazing.
At Arsenal he would have had to be more defense minded and more accurate upfield, a style of play he would have adapted to. Adebayor would have found him a perfect forward partner, and his ability to bring the ball out of midfield would have brought in wingers like Walcott.
Watching Tevez adapt at West Ham was fascinating. He was understandably rusty at first, but soon grew very fit. His team mates appeared not to give him a pass to start with. Bringing two foreign players into a team means they remain in their gang and fail to integrate. But hard work and superb single-minded goals won the fans over. I remember him running into the adoring West Ham crowd after scoring. It was worth a booking. Tevez had arrived!
