and save yourself right then and there. I was amazed though, this woman, she had ample time to cry and blubber and back away and be surrounded and passed by, yes passed by, other slow zombies until she finally shot her neighbor in the head. It was much longer than I would have been comfortable allowing a zombie to walk towards me with the intent to feed, on me. It wasn't bad movie-making, it was an illustration of the non-threat of this particular enemy. The inefficiency of the living to defend themselves against this simple threat.

If those people had been up against fast zombies they would not have survived as long as they did. Fast zombies do not need to have logic (even though they occasionally do), they are simply fast and that is lethal enough. They can sense you, smell you, see you, and run after you. In some ways fast zombies experience a super human speed and endurance because they are not 'alive'. They will not become exhausted in the same way you will, they only know what they want and that they have to move to get it. They will push whatever muscle they have in their lifeless bodies to limits they don't know it has because they desire to feed, and desire is all they know for the most part.

A faster hunter is almost always the more efficient depending on the prey. In the case of zombies, the prey is human and so therefore is intelligent and will run (hopefully). So in this case the most efficient zombie must be a fast one. Besides that, in the real zombie apocalypse, I know I would RATHER be confronted by slow zombies...which tells me that they must be the lesser threat.
