I was about 11 years old when i found out Santa clause wasn't real. I know most people think this is a bit old but i had a little brother who was still believing, so my parents needed to make sure he still believed. My parents always said that believing in the little things help to build up to believing in the big one..God .. but when i was 11 my mom accidentally spilled to me that Santa wasn't real when she asked me what they should get me to come from Santa? I was not upset i had some idea he wasn't real but that blew the lid. Then for the next 3 years i pretended for the sake of my little brother. It was a lot of fun really because we use to get a fake letter from Santa and it looked so real we use to get more gifts because some would be from Santa and some from my parents.. also my parents made us get presents for each other to show us the true meaning of Christmas was giving. Once i knew Santa was not real i still had a lot of fun because the more fun, real things came into play that my mom made traditions out of playing a certain game into looking for some of our gifts. I am now soon to be a mother and will inspire my child to believe in Santa Clause because it is one of the many fun, innocent things of youth that shouldn't be taken from our children of today. A child is only a child for so long, let them believe.
